What customer information does WooCommerce retain?

WooCommerce adheres to the Protection Regulation (GDPR) protecting EU citizens’ data, as well as PCI-DSS compliance (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), which sets consistent security measures with the aim of reducing credit card fraud.

By default, WooCommerce retains:

• What products a customer ordered and when;
• Name, e-mail address, and phone number provided by the customer;
• Billing (and optionally: shipping) address entered by the customer; and
• A note about payment method used by the customer

The Show Me Animal site never stores customer’s credit card number and security code. The payment gateway gives this sensitive information directly to the payment processor. This design ensures that payment gateway plugins keep credit card data from entering or passing through the Show Me Animal website’s database.
